I’m a Country Mouse Now
When I moved from Manhattan to Alabama I was in for a real culture shock! There were no more subways. There was not Starbucks on every corner. There was no smog.
Another thing I had to get used to is the heat. It gets hot in New York, but it does not stay hot for nearly as long. I feel like I’m taking an advanced course in perspiration. I’m not sure if I will pass.
One good thing is the cost of insurance. Although life insurance costs about the same, our auto insurance is a lot cheaper. Also our Alabama homeowners insurance is much cheaper than what we paid in NYC. This is true even though our NYC property insurance was for a small apartment and now it is for a nice house on a couple of acres of land.
